On Thursday, September 12, Crown Regency Hotels & Resorts broke ground on their first Bohol property - Crown Regency Grand Paradise. The celebratory groundbreaking took place on the hotel's construction site on Barangay Songculan, Dauis, Bohol.
Leading the ceremonial shoveling are the Chief Operating Officer of Crown Regency Hotels & Resorts - Ms. Susan King-Bernardo and Executive Assistant to the COO - Ms. Richelle Kate King. Joining them were the hotel group's AVP for Sales and Marketing - Ms. Raquel Marasigan, Club Ultima Project Director Mr. Dax Velando, Municipal Mayor of Dauis, Bohol - Honorable Marietta Sumaylo, Satellite Head of the Department of Tourism-Bohol - Mr. Jaypee Orcullo, Operations Manager from Palafox Architecture & Associates - Arch. Marvin Nubla, Chairman & President of RLB Phils., Inc. - Ms. Corazon Ballard, Operations Manager of BSP & Co., Inc. - Mr. Leo Gutierrez. Also in attendance were the municipality's councilors, representatives from the local government unit of Dauis, Bohol, and local community leaders.
A brainchild of the King family, the idea of building this resort was conceived to continue the legacy of their parents, Jesus and Barbara King. The resort will also stand as a tribute to the matriarch, Ma'am Barbara who hails from Candijay, Bohol.
The 4-star resort property designed by Palafox Architecture & Associates will feature 550 rooms composed of a hotel block and several building clusters with 8 honeymoon and family villas that have direct access to a 1,000 square meter cascading swimming pool surrounding the entire building. The 2.9 hectare property is situated beside a lagoon-shaped lake — Songculan Lake. It will have a convention center with a capacity of approximately 1,000 to 1,200 persons, meeting/function rooms, a convenience store onsite, and various outdoor activities and food & entertainment outlets.
With the opening of the Panglao-Bohol International Airport, and the projected influx of local and foreign tourists on the island, Crown Regency Grand Paradise is primed to provide warm Filipino hospitality and purposes to offer guests a uniquely Crown Regency experience that is beyond the ordinary - truly providing guests a new destination within a destination in Bohol.
